First, highlights! Jay shares his new favorite find, smoked and braised chicken wings. Frankie makes hot and fast lemon pepper wings. Brian gets a mini smoke n’ sear for the kettle.

This week’s BBQ Question is, After listening to your informative show with Stephen Raichlen, I have two questions: How does the beer create steam if the chicken is done at 165 degrees, which is below the boiling point of water, and if the can is inside the chicken, doesn't the full carcass block steam penetration? After the break we dive into our bbq gift guide - essentials for a summer of successful cooks!

The Smoker box is one of the best ways to impart the best flavor of grilling to your food. The SMOKE. I love smoke flavor and how it compliments so many proteins. With a smoke box, you can add smoke to anything you cook in a consistent and repeatable manner.

Like Jay said, nothing ruins your grilling mood like needing to make a last second run to the store because of fuel issues. That’s why keeping your charcoal fuel stored dry is a must!  This tote is waterproof, holds a full 22-pound bag and has a handy pouring chute.

If you have a Blackstone Griddle - or any griddle - this duo is essential for seasoning and maintaining your griddle.

There is nothing worse than having people over and running out of propane during a cook. It could really ruin an outing as trying to run to a store to exchange a tank can really mess up your good time. If you had a gauge on the tank you can always tell how much fuel you have, if you are getting low you can know ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

When cooking meats for a long time, running outside every 15 min can be a bit much. This can be very time consuming and takes you away from other activities like cleaning, watching tv or playing video games. Why not make it easy and get the right tool so you dont have to constantly get up to check the temperature of your cooker and or meats. A great digital thermometer with multiple probes is an excellent way to see the temps of your meat and the environment that you are cooking in. With 500ft range you can be at a neighbors sharing a cold one while your smoker is working.

Chef Ty from Smashburger came on our podcast and proclaimed, “That sharp edge will cut the sear, so it sticks to the burger, and keeps it from drying out.” Who am I to doubt him?

From deep fried turkey to a creole seafood feast this is a great kit of essentials for cooking outside! Great for steaming, making soups, beyond - the possibilities are endless!

Being able to carry all our things (seasonings, sauces, utensils, paper towels) from the kitchen to the grill, in one trip makes this item a must have. Especially if you are supposed to kick your shoes off at the door - you know what I mean?
